Next spring looks to be exciting with plenty of events coming in the local area.

Carleen Village Hall

Starting with the village hall in Carleen there is a Barn Dance on Saturday 17th February so get ready for a good old Ceilidh! contact the village hall if interested (tickets include a Pasty!)

Also at the village hall on Saturday 13th April the inimitable Jonny Cowling will be entertaining the audience and we’re sure he will be a popular event there. Contact the village hall for tickets.

Sat 2nd March : Community Tree Planting And Wellness Event Near Helston

There will be a community tree planting event at Lotties Farm near Carleen – see this page for more details.

Saturday 16th March : Cornwall Heritage Trust at Balwest Sunday School (TR13 9TE) anytime from 10am to 2pm

Cornwall Heritage Trust are holding a public consultation day to share people’s thoughts after their recent acquisition of Tregonning Hill. There will be tea, coffee, and cake available. Local mining history specialist, Stephen Polglase, will be giving free guided walks at 10:30am and 1pm (please note: there is a capacity of 15 people per walk). Local Farmers’ Markets

Held on the first Saturday of every month starting 3rd February 2024 the Helston Farmers Market will return – see their Facebook page for more details.

The Godolphin Cross Farmers Market is held on the second Saturday of every month from April to December – see their website for more details.

A firm local favourite for foodies the Porthleven Food Festival returns this year between April 26th and 28th with three days of great local and even international food, chefs and entertainment.
